Our History

Since 1969 O.ERRE.PI. is an excellence in machine tools industry.

The history of O.ERRE.PI. is born with Mr. Maffei Mario, class 1942.

A specialized mechanic and passionate about his work, after 10 years spent in the RIV-SKF factory in Airasca, he decided to undertake an independent professional experience continuing to do the double job for a further 5 years. In a short time he became an important reference point in the mechanic industry, repairing machine tools dedicated to the grinding and honing of all types of bearings.

The RIV-SKF became its principal client and soon its expertise was required by industries throughout northern Italy.

O.ERRE.PI. was born

Since 1969 O.Erre.Pi. has become an excellence in the machine tool sector.

First change of location

In 1978 the company expanded its headquarters from 200 to 500 square meters.

In 1989 the company expanded its headquarters again, now moving to a 1200 square meter factory.

Upgrade technologies

In 1985 the company introduced the AutoCAD Mechanical system for design.

In 1998 the company introduces CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology.

Quality certification

Since 1999 O.Erre.Pi. obtains the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 quality system certification.

Expansion of the headquarters

In 2000 O.Erre.Pi. grows further by moving to a 2400 square meters factory.

In 2001 the first machine entirely designed and produced in-house was born.

In 2002 the company introduces the AutoCAD 3D system for design.

Award “Best Supplier of the year”

In 2006 O.Erre.Pi. receives the prestigious “Best Supplier of the year” award from NTN SNR.

Expansion of the headquarters

In 2004 O.Erre.Pi. again expands its headquarters by moving to a 5400 square meters factory.

In 2014 O.Erre.Pi. expands its machine park by including those for milling and grinding of the bases.

“We were in full swing of the third industrial revolution, the first man on the moon and a great desire to work. We had great inspirational men and we lived their dreams. First of all in Turin the dream ‘Agnelli-Fiat’ and we, young people, were ready to bet on a growing automotive and mechanical industry with the rise of the bearing at its center! I worked hard, I developed new machine tools and revised the old ones. Then there were the years of the oil crisis with ups and downs, but my production turned to a niche market and this allowed me to stay afloat. I was busy working and I did not realize that the whole world was changing. Today it is an adventure that is almost 50 years old and if I stop to reflect, looking at the workers of the new O.ERRE.PI. It does not seem possible that ‘so much water has passed under the bridges’. We have entered another industrial revolution, we have new technologies to build perfect machine tools, to shape pieces of raw steel and to satisfy customers’ requests without using pencil and rubber. My son Fabrizio in 1987 and Stefano in 2000 took the reins of the company and from 3 years my niece has joined the team. I enjoy spending time in the production department between high-precision projects, steel and sheet metal. Behind all this, over time has created an excellent staff of skilled and qualified workers, some have been with me for over 30 years. And so has grows over time the group of technicians and secretaries who work in a precise and indefatigable manner. They are very valuable collaborators. Last, but first ever, my wife who has endured me, supported and advised through these wonderful years. I still have a wish, I would like all the O.ERRE.PI. to continue to grow and expand in the name of professionalism, precision, collaboration driven towards success!”

Implementation of the LAW 81/2008 which provides worker’s protection measures and we are pleased to report that we have ZERO ACCIDENT at work.

Welcoming young people from all over Europe who wish to undertake internships in our company. This project is designed and made possible by ‘ENGIM’ a non-profit association. It’s accredited for the continuous training obligation and Superior School orientation.

 

The Manager Maffei Fabrizio is currently the vice president of ‘CFIQ’that is an institution accredited by the Piedmont Region for the provision of Services for the Work and it promotes several projects including ‘IFTS’ courses.IFTS coursesare designed to train specialist professionals. The teaching method is the alternation school-work, with the possibility, for young people of both sexes who are suitable, to be hired by companies with an apprenticeship contract. The ‘MIUR’ , Ministry of Education, University and Research has issued the LAW 107 that regulates this obligation.

 

During the 2018/19 school year, there will be a project in alternation school-work with the ‘I.I.S. ALBERTI – PORRO’ of Pinerolo.

Metrology Room

A Metrology Room has been operating since 1997 and is equipped with Taylor Hobson precision instruments.
An attentive Technical Staff takes care of keeping it in efficiency and in terms of rigor. Correct air conditioning, constant humidity and temperature are essential gradients to make precise measurements, reduce production errors to zero and ensure the quality of the finished product.
Since 2015 we have added to our equipment an excellence in the metrology field: Coord 3 for three-dimensional measurements.
